Devils 1, Sabres 0 (OT): Steve Bernier scored at 4:19 of overtime as host New Jersey posted its second straight victory following a three-game skid.

After outshooting Buffalo 8-3 in the third period, New Jersey allowed the first two shots of overtime before taking advantage of its first opportunity. Bernier received a pass from Greene just outside the blue line and moved to the top of the left faceoff circle before beating a screened Enroth high to the glove side for his first goal in 20 games.
Schneider, making his second start in as many nights, made three saves in both the first and third periods while stopping seven shots in the second. He denied both Buffalo shots in overtime en route to his 11th career shutout.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Greene extended his point streak to five games with his assist. ... Devils C Ryan Carter put in 12 seconds of work Saturday. Carter was knocked for a loop in a fight with Sabres LW Marcus Foligno during his first shift of the game and suffered lacerations, which prevented his return to the contest. ... Buffalo RW Patrick Kaleta, who hasn't played with the team since receiving a 10-game suspension for a hit to the head of Columbus D Jack Johnson in mid-October, won't suit up for the club again this campaign. According to the Buffalo News, Kaleta suffered a torn ACL while playing for Rochester of the American Hockey League and is done for the season.
