Recap

Blues 3, Wild 0: Alexander Steen scored twice to increase his team-leading total to 19 goals and Jaroslav Halak turned aside all 22 shots he faced for his 27th career shutout as host St. Louis skated to its sixth straight victory versus Minnesota.

Vladimir Sobotka tallied for the second time in as many contests and defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo notched an assist while playing in his first game since signing for his second stint with the Blues.

While St. Louis posted its fourth consecutive win to improve to 10-2-1 in November, the Wild saw their three-game winning streak come to an end and fell to 9-2-1 in the month.

After Zach Parise's high stick negated an apparent Minnesota goal 30 seconds into the contest, the Blues responded 50 seconds later as Sobotka tapped home a rebound of Colaiacovo's point shot. Steen doubled the advantage over 12 minutes later and snapped a four-game goalless drought after beating Niklas Backstrom (18 saves) with a backhander off a rebound. He added an empty-netter to seal the win.

Halak was hardly tested in the first 40 minutes before stopping all 12 shots in the third to preserve his franchise-best 18th shutout - and second this season.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Steen was blasted into the boards by Wild D Jared Spurgeon early in the third period. Steen remained on the bench for several minutes before returning midway through the session. ... St. Louis held a decisive 38-19 edge in faceoffs, with Sobotka winning 11-of-12 draws. ... Colaiacovo drew the nod after fellow D Kevin Shattenkirk was scratched due to the flu. ... Minnesota LW Mike Rupp made his season debut after returning from a lower-body injury.
