Recap

Senators 4, Bruins 2: Defenseman Jared Cowen scored the go-ahead goal 5:42 into the third period as Ottawa erased an early deficit to snap an 11-game home winless streak against Boston.

Captain Jason Spezza collected a goal and an assist while Bobby Ryan netted his team-leading 10th tally for the Senators, who posted their first home victory over the Bruins since April 7, 2009. Enforcer Chris Neil also scored and Craig Anderson finished with 30 saves.

Loui Eriksson and Brad Marchand tallied while defenseman Matt Bartkowski notched a pair of assists for the first multi-point performance of his NHL career. Patrice Bergeron also set up a goal to extend his point streak to four contests for the Bruins, who saw their four-game winning streak come to an end.

With the contest tied at 2-2, Cory Conacher tapped a loose puck from below the end line off the left-wing boards. Cowen one-timed a low drive that sailed between the pads of a screened Tuukka Rask (27 saves) for a 3-2 lead. Ryan provided insurance 4 1/2 minutes later as Ottawa rebounded from a dismal 5-0 loss to Philadelphia on Tuesday.

After Boston jumped out to a 2-0 advantage, Neil halved the deficit with 50 seconds remaining in the first period by scoring from the right faceoff circle following a turnover. Spezza knotted the contest at 1:32 of the third, converting defenseman Erik Karlsson's brilliant slap pass from the doorstep.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Eriksson opened the scoring 6:03 into the contest, when he deflected Bartkowski's point shot past Anderson, before setting up Boston's second tally nearly four minutes later. Marchand used his shifty skating ability to create space between Ottawa LW Colin Greening and C Zack Smith before wristing a shot from the slot that sailed off the right post and into the net. ... Bergeron has collected three goals and two assists during his point streak. ... After denying both of the Senators' power-play opportunities, the Bruins have successfully killed their last 28 penalties.
