Recap

Sabres 3, Kings 2 (SO): Matt Moulson and Tyler Ennis converted in the shootout and Cody Hodgson scored two goals as Buffalo rallied to become the last team in the league to win a home game.

Ryan Miller turned aside 43 shots and denied both attempts in the shootout as the Sabres avoided becoming the second team in league history to go winless in its first 10 home games. Moulson collected a pair of assists as Buffalo improved 11-1-0 with a tie at home against Los Angeles since the start of the 1993-94 season.

Justin Williams and Dwight King scored goals for the Kings, who had to go into the shootout with a cold Ben Scrivens in net after Jonathan Quick (15 saves) suffered a lower-body injury with 1:20 left in overtime. Moulson beat Scrivens on the first attempt in the bonus format before Ennis clinched it in the third round.

Williams put the Kings on top 77 seconds into the contest, deflecting defenseman Slava Voynov's shot from the point off Sabres blue-liner Mark Pysyk and past Miller. Despite being completely dominated, Buffalo pulled even at 12:46 of the second when captain Steve Ott slid a crossing pass to a cutting Hodgson for a tap-in on the team's second shot of the period and sixth of the game.

Hodgson put Buffalo ahead on the power play 4:26 into the third period, converting a rebound from almost the identical spot as his previous tally. Los Angeles got the equalizer exactly 12 minutes later when King swept a rebound past Miller for his fifth goal, matching his career high set in 2011-12.
