Blues 3, Blackhawks 2 (SO): T.J. Oshie collected an assist for his 200th career point before scoring in the first round of the shootout as visiting St. Louis defeated Chicago for the second time this season.

After Blues defenseman Barret Jackman nearly ended the wild contest by hitting the post in overtime, Oshie used a nifty deke on Corey Crawford to net the lone goal in the bonus format. Reigning Conn Smythe Trophy winner Patrick Kane shot wide of the net before Jaroslav Halak denied captain Jonathan Toews and Patrick Sharp to preserve the win.

Captain David Backes scored a power-play goal while playing in his 500th career game. Alexander Steen matched his season total with his fifth tally and Halak finished with 27 saves for the Blues, who rebounded from their first loss - a 6-2 drubbing at the hands of San Jose on Tuesday.

Marian Hossa recorded a goal and an assist and Brandon Pirri netted his first career NHL tally. Crawford turned aside 26 shots for the Blackhawks, who had won three in a row following a 3-2 defeat in St. Louis last Wednesday.

After setting up Pirri to open the scoring in the first period, Hossa gave Chicago a 2-1 lead with 2:38 remaining in the second by electing to keep the puck on a 2-on-none breakaway with Sharp and beating Halak for his second goal in as many games. Steen forged a 2-2 tie just 51 seconds later after his high deflection off defenseman Jay Bouwmeester's shot also caromed off Blackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith and past Crawford.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The game nearly took an ugly turn midway through the second period as Kane was drilled from behind by Jackman, who received a boarding penalty. ... Chicago D Niklas Hjalmarsson picked up his team-leading fifth assist after creating a turnover which led to Hossa's goal. ... Backes has collected three goals and two assists in his last five meetings with Chicago.
