Brandon Prust also tallied and Daniel Briere collected an empty-net goal and an assist for the Canadiens, who finished a four-game road trip with a 3-1-0 mark. The victory was Montreal's sixth straight versus the Winnipeg franchise and ninth in 10 outings.

After stopping 39 shots in a 4-1 win over Vancouver in his home province on Saturday, Price highlighted his first shutout of the season with a 15-save performance in the third period.

Prust opened the scoring at 2:06 of the first period after banging home the rebound of Briere's shot off the end boards. Montreal doubled the advantage 9:22 later after David Desharnais coupled a great back-checking effort before feeding Subban for a blistering one-timer from the blue line.
