Recap

Blues 4, Predators 3 (SO):
T.J. Oshie and Alex Steen scored in the shootout and Brian Elliott was perfect in relief of Jaroslav Halak as St. Louis came back to hand host Nashville its second straight shootout loss.

Rookie Vladimir Tarasenko had a goal and two assists while Andy McDonald and defenseman Alex Pietrangelo also scored for the Blues. Elliott made 13 saves in 32 minutes after replacing Halak, who allowed three goals on 11 shots.

Patric Hornqvist scored for Nashville and set up goals by Colin Wilson and Mike Fisher. Pekka Rinne stopped 36 shots but couldn’t deny backhanders by Oshie and Steen in the shootout.

Wilson opened the scoring midway through the first period, but Tarasenko replied a little over a minute later before drawing a penalty and setting up McDonald on the ensuing power play to give St. Louis the 2-1 lead.

Nashville responded with power-play goals by Fisher and Hornqvist to chase Halak. But Elliott made some great saves to keep the deficit at one and allow Pietrangelo to tie the game with 7:50 left in regulation.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Predators D Scott Hannan was minus-2 but blocked a game-high seven shots. … Nashville D Shea Weber led all skaters with nearly 29 minutes of ice time. … Nashville finished 2-for-6 on the power play. The Blues were 1-for-2.
