Blackhawks 8, Stars 1: Captain Jonathan Toews recorded two goals and an assist while Marian Hossa also scored twice as visiting Chicago registered its highest offensive output of the season.
Patrick Kane and defenseman Nick Leddy each had a goal and two assists, Duncan Keith added one of each and fellow blue-liner Johnny Oduya also scored for the Blackhawks, who are 2-0-0 on their four-game road trip. Corey Crawford made 18 saves as Chicago went 2-for-6 on the power play.
Toews got things rolling midway through the first period as he scored goals 95 seconds apart for a 2-0 lead. After redirecting a feed from Leddy at 9:05, Toews completed his second two-goal effort of the season by backhanding a loose puck in the crease into a vacant net.
Leddy scored late in the first period and Oduya tallied 8:01 into the second to chase Kari Lehtonen, who finished with 13 saves. Hossa took over in the second half of the middle period, registering his fourth two-goal performance to make it 6-0, and Keith scored early in the third before Dallas defenseman Trevor Daley spoiled Crawford's shutout bid at the 6:30 mark.
Richard Bachman also allowed four goals on 17 shots in relief of Lehtonen for the Stars, who have yielded 15 goals during their four-game winless streak (0-3-1). Center Jamie Benn returned after missing two games with a wrist injury and notched an assist.
