Predators 4, Stars 0: Pekka Rinne made 32 saves to secure his NHL-leading fifth shutout and Richard Clune scored on a penalty shot in the second period as visiting Nashville defeated Dallas for the fourth straight time.
Captain Shea Weber and Gabriel Bourque netted power-play goals and Nick Spaling also tallied. Craig Smith and David Legwand each notched a pair of assists for the Predators, who snapped a six-game road winless streak (0-5-1).
After stopping all 24 shots he faced against Edmonton on Friday, Rinne didn't miss a beat versus Dallas. The Finn made nine saves in the first period, 15 in the second and eight in the third to preserve his 30th career shutout.
Nashville gave Rinne all the offense he would need at 12:16 of the first period. Matt Halischuk stole the puck at center ice before feeding Spaling, who wristed a shot past Kari Lehtonen (17 saves).
After Weber doubled the advantage 2:16 into the middle session, Clune was hooked by Stars defenseman Jordie Benn on a breakaway. Clune converted the subsequent penalty shot, beating Lehtonen between the pads to give Nashville a 3-0 lead.
