Recap

Canucks 2, Blue Jackets 1 (SO): Mason Raymond’s controversial goal in the second round of the shootout helped visiting Vancouver win for the first time in five games.

Raymond skated in and spun around on his backhand before tucking the puck into the open net. Columbus coach Todd Richards was adamant that forward progress was not maintained on Raymond’s attempt, but the referees allowed it to stand and Roberto Luongo poke-checked Mark Letestu to seal the victory.

Defenseman Jason Garrison scored in regulation for Vancouver, which snapped the Blue Jackets’ five-game winning streak and ended a four-game skid (0-2-2). Luongo made 26 saves and was perfect in the shootout for his first win in three starts.

Letestu scored for Columbus, which has points in its last eight games (5-0-3). Sergei Bobrovsky made his fourth straight start and stopped 37 shots.

Letestu opened the scoring 3:04 into the second period, grabbing his own rebound while driving to the net and putting a backhand shot past Luongo. Garrison tied the game with 3:49 remaining in the session as his one-timer from the point found its way through traffic just as a Vancouver power play expired.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Vancouver finished 0-for-2 with the man advantage and hasn’t scored a power-play goal in nine games. … Columbus' Artem Anisimov missed his third straight game with a lower-body injury. … The Blue Jackets fell one win short of tying a franchise record for consecutive victories, which was set in 2006.
