Sharks 3, Canucks 2 (SO): Joe Pavelski scored the decisive goal in the fourth round of the shootout as visiting San Jose recorded its third win in four games.
Scott Gomez scored, Adam Burish added a short-handed tally and defenseman Brad Stuart notched two assists. Antti Niemi made 36 saves for the Sharks, who have posted consecutive victories for the first time since ending January with a seven-game winning streak.
Chris Higgins opened the shootout by ringing in a shot off the right post, and the goal held up until Logan Couture slid a backhander between Cory Schneider's pads on San Jose's third-round attempt. Niemi denied Alex Burrows before Pavelski beat Schneider to the stick side to end the contest.
The victory was Todd McLellan's 206th as San Jose's coach, tying Ron Wilson for first place on the franchise list.
Captain Henrik Sedin and Jannik Hansen scored while Schneider stopped 28 shots for the Canucks, who are 1-3-1 in their last five games.
Gomez opened the scoring at 7:42 of the first period with a slap shot from above the slot that sailed over Schneider's right shoulder. It was Gomez's first point in 10 games and first goal since Feb. 17, 2012 while with Montreal.
Burish made it 2-0 early in the second as he received a lead pass from Stuart and beat Schneider to the glove side from the high slot for his first tally in 45 games.
Vancouver halved the deficit with 6:37 remaining in the session, when Sedin put a backhander past Niemi from the doorstep. Hansen forged a tie 25 seconds before intermission as he beat a screened Niemi from the left faceoff circle.
