Blue Jackets 4, Oilers 3 (SO):
Artem Anisimov and Mark Letestu scored in the shootout and Sergei Bobrovsky was perfect in relief as host Columbus edged Edmonton.

Anisimov went to the backhand to score in the opening round of the shootout and Letestu clinched it in the third for the Blue Jackets, who snapped a four-game winless streak. Derek MacKenzie, Vinny Prospal and defenseman Jack Johnson scored and Bobrovsky made 21 saves in regulation and overtime after coming on 31 seconds into the second period.

Jeff Petry, Ryan Whitney and Magnus Paajarvi tallied and Devan Dubnyk made 35 saves for the Oilers.

Petry floated the puck toward the goal from the right point and somehow got the wrist shot past a screened Steve Mason to open the scoring at the 4:23 mark of the first. MacKenzie knotted it at 1-1 only 3:31 later when he deflected Jared Boll’s wrist shot in from the doorstep.

Prospal made it 2-1 Columbus with a power-play goal but Whitney beat Mason between the pads from the right faceoff circle to knot it again before the end of the first. The teams traded tallies in the second, with Paajarvi putting the Oilers on top 31 seconds into the period before Johnson streaked through the slot and banged home a strong feed from Derick Brassard.

Bobrovsky made the save of the game early in overtime, going into a full split before reaching up with his stick hand to bat away Jordan Eberle’s wrist shot. … Prospal assisted on Johnson’s goal and has earned at least one point in four straight games. … Edmonton fell to 1-2-2 on its nine-game road trip.
