Ducks 3, Predators 2 (SO): Corey Perry scored the decisive goal in the third round of the shootout and Viktor Fasth turned aside 32 shots to win for the eighth time in as many NHL starts as Anaheim capped its season-high six-game road trip in grand style.
Matt Beleskey scored for the second straight contest and Patrick Maroon netted his first NHL goal. The Ducks, who finished the trek with a 5-1-0 mark, have defeated Nashville twice this season after losing the previous six meetings.
Captain Shea Weber recorded his 100th career goal and David Legwand also tallied as the Predators fell for the second time in nine outings. Pekka Rinne finished with 20 saves but saw his shutout streak end at a personal-best 155 minutes, 6 seconds.
After Perry netted the decisive tally in a 3-2 shootout win over Nashville on Jan. 26, history repeated itself on Saturday. Nick Bonino and Craig Smith traded tallies in the first and second rounds, respectively, before Perry backhanded the puck past Rinne. Gabriel Bourque shot wide on Nashville's final attempt, ending the contest.
Weber gave Nashville a 2-1 lead midway through the second period, when his wrist shot sailed past a screened Fasth. The tally was Weber's first of the season, but Maroon leveled the contest by redirecting Kyle Palmieri's wrist shot.
