Flyers 2, Lightning 1: Fourth-liner Tom Sestito doubled his career goal total by scoring twice and Ilya Bryzgalov turned aside 21 shots as Philadelphia opened a four-game homestand by edging high-scoring Tampa Bay.
Ruslan Fedotenko notched an assist against his former team as the Flyers won their second straight following a three-game skid. The latter streak began with a lopsided 5-1 setback at Tampa Bay on Jan. 27.
Benoit Pouliot scored his second goal in three contests and Anders Lindback made 22 saves for the Lightning, who have lost two in a row following a four-game winning streak.
After Pouliot leveled the contest by scoring from the doorstep 9 1/2 minutes into the third period, Sestito answered just 1:41 later. Max Talbot's backhanded centering feed was alertly chipped by Fedotenko to Sestito, who mirrored his first goal by shifting from forehand to backhand before tucking the puck between the pads of Lindback.
Sestito opened the scoring 4:25 into the second period as he came off the bench to accept Jakub Voracek's brilliant cross-slot pass and beat Lindback. The goal was his first since Dec. 23, 2010.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Philadelphia's Zac Rinaldo drew the ire of Tampa Bay alternate captain Martin St. Louis midway through the first period after the former continued his fight with B.J. Crombeen while the Lightning RW was on the ice. Crombeen did not return to the contest for "precautionary reasons." ... Maurice Richard Trophy winner Steven Stamkos, who hit the crossbar early in the second period, joined St. Louis in seeing their respective five-game point streaks come to an end. ... Former Flyer D Matt Carle had two shots on goal and three blocked shots in the loss.
