Recap

Wild 3, Blue Jackets 2:
Pierre-Marc Bouchard scored his 100th career goal to snap a tie with 5:19 remaining in the third period and help Minnesota edge visiting Columbus.

Captain Mikko Koivu added a goal and an assist, defenseman Tom Gilbert scored and Niklas Backstrom made 17 saves as the Wild snapped a three-game losing streak.

Defenseman Jack Johnson scored on the power play and Mark Letestu chipped in his second tally as Columbus failed to score more than two goals for the fifth straight contest.

After Johnson's goal forged a 2-2 tie at 7:32 of the third period, the Wild responded just over seven minutes later as Torrey Mitchell dropped a pass off on a 2-on-1 break to Bouchard. The veteran right wing skated past a pair of defenders before beating Steve Mason to give Minnesota a lead it would not relinquish.

Koivu circled behind the net and glanced a quick shot off Mason’s pads to get Minnesota on the board. Gilbert collected Koivu’s rebound in the right circle before firing a wrist shot past for a 2-0 lead with 1:39 left in the first period. Letestu slipped a rebound past Backstrom with 5:01 left in the second to bring Columbus within one.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Bouchard saw his penalty shot turned aside by Mason shortly after his go-ahead tally. … Minnesota LW Zach Parise, who had an apparent goal overturned in the second period, failed to record a point for the first time since joining the team. … Mason, who made 23 saves, has lost each of his three starts.
