Coyotes 4, Predators 0: Chad Johnson made 21 saves in his fifth NHL start and defenseman Keith Yandle recorded a goal and two assists as host Phoenix picked up its second win of the season.
Nick Johnson notched a goal and an assist while Antoine Vermette and Lauri Korpikoski also tallied for the Coyotes, who have outscored their opponents 9-1 in their two victories.
Chad Johnson was not tested often over the first 40 minutes, as he needed to stop only three shots in the first period and seven in the second. Making his first start since 2009-10 with the New York Rangers, the 26-year-old made 12 saves in the third en route to his first career shutout.
Vermette provided all the support he would need as he beat Pekka Rinne from the inner edge of the right faceoff circle three minutes into the game. Korpikoski buried a loose puck on the doorstep late in the second period, and Nick Johnson and Yandle scored 3 1/2 minutes apart in the third to seal the win.
Rinne (0-2-3) made 21 saves but remained winless for the Predators, who fell to 1-2-1 on their franchise record-tying seven-game road trip.
