Ducks 3, Predators 2 (SO): Corey Perry scored the lone shootout goal and Viktor Fasth made 19 saves in his first career start as host Anaheim snapped a six-game losing streak against Nashville.
Bobby Ryan and Daniel Winnik scored in regulation for the Ducks, who rebounded from a 5-0 loss to Vancouver in their home opener on Friday.
Brandon Yip and David Legwand scored while Pekka Rinne stopped 20 shots for the Predators, who are 1-1-1 three contests into their seven-game road trip. Nashville fell to 0-3 in shootouts this season.
After Fasth denied Mike Fisher on Nashville's second-round shootout attempt, Perry fired the puck between Rinne's pads to give Anaheim the advantage. The 30-year-old Fasth then clinched the win, getting a piece of Legwand's shot before reaching back and snagging the puck with his glove.
Nashville got on the board less than two minutes into the game as Yip chased down his own rebound and beat Fasth with a backhander. Ryan deflected the puck past Rinne with 33 seconds remaining in the second to forge a tie, and Legwand and Winnik scored 63 seconds apart midway through the third.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Winnik became the first player in franchise history to record five goals in the first four games of a season. ...
