Red Wings 5, Wild 3:
Todd Bertuzzi scored twice and Pavel Datsyuk recorded a goal and two assists as Detroit broke out of its offensive slump at the expensive of visiting Minnesota.

Captain Henrik Zetterberg had a goal and an assist, rookie Damien Brunner scored on the power play and Valtteri Filppula collected three assists for the Red Wings. Detroit had totaled four regulation goals in its first three games and entered Friday 0-for-15 on the power play.

Zach Parise scored twice, defenseman Tom Gilbert added a goal and captain Mikko Koivu picked up two assists as the Wild dropped their second straight game.

Gilbert drew a cross checking penalty with less than a minute left in the first period and was still in the box when Brunner beat Josh Harding 13 seconds into the second for Detroit’s first power-play tally. Bertuzzi made it a 2-0 gap with his first goal 38 seconds later.

Minnesota battled back to tie it when Parise scored on the power play and Gilbert beat Jimmy Howard (23 saves) at the 6:29 mark of the second, but the Red Wings were not finished in the period. Zetterberg finally connected for his first goal with 7:04 left and Datsyuk also scored with the man advantage.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Bertuzzi’s second goal made it 5-2 in the third and Parise trimmed the deficit with 9:42 left in the game. … Harding finished with 22 saves. He had recorded a 1-0 shutout over Dallas in his first start on Sunday. … D Niklas Kronwall added two assists for the Red Wings.
