Blues 3, Predators 0:
Patrik Berglund scored on a penalty shot and the St. Louis defense allowed 13 shots on goal in Jaroslav Halak’s shutout of visiting Nashville.

T.J. Oshie added a power-play goal and rookie Vladimir Tarasenko picked up his fourth tally in as many games for the Blues, who beat the Predators for the second time in four days.

Pekka Rinne made 21 saves as Nashville suffered its first regulation loss. The Predators had dropped their previous two games in shootouts.

Nashville center Mike Fisher was whistled for hooking with 7:50 left in the first period and St. Louis made the most of its opportunity. Berglund sent the puck to the net and Oshie won the scramble in front for his third goal just 49 seconds into the power play.

Fisher again gave the Blues an opportunity to score when he hooked Berglund on a breakaway at the 9:26 mark of the second. Berglund beat Rinne on the penalty shot to make it a 2-0 cushion, and Tarasenko scored off a shift change at the 9:04 mark of the third to put it away.

Halak, who recorded six shutouts in 46 starts last season, has two in three starts already in 2013. … Tarasenko, 21, has six points in his first four NHL games - including four in the two meetings with Nashville. … Rinne is 0-1-2 in his first three starts with eight goals against.
