Jason Spezza added an empty-net goal with 1:16 remaining in the contest to seal it after Anderson made a big glove save on Peter Mueller at 13:53 of the third period. Defenseman Chris Phillips tied it at 1-all in the first period for the Senators, who have beaten the Panthers twice this week and 11 of the last 12 times overall.

Anderson was especially sharp in the second period, stopping all 13 shots, and the Senators got him a 2-1 lead. Karlsson stole a cross-ice pass in the neutral zone, waited for teammates to get on side and snapped a shot past Theodore from the left circle at 8:28.
