Recap

Wild 1, Stars 0: Josh Harding turned aside all 24 shots he faced in his first start since being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and Zach Parise scored the lone goal as host Minnesota blanked Dallas.

Diagnosed in October, Harding posted his seventh career shutout by stopping eight shots in the first period, 11 in the second and five in the third.

Parise, who signed a 13-year, $98 million deal in the offseason, provided all the offense he would need in the first period. The Minnesota native accepted a return feed from Pierre-Marc Bouchard and one-timed a shot from the high slot which sailed past Christopher Nilstorp, who was making his NHL debut.

The Wild snapped a three-game losing skid to the Stars and won their initial two contests to begin a season for the first time since starting 4-0-0 in 2008-09.

Nilstorp finished with 31 saves for the Stars, who defeated the Wild in three of the four meetings last season.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Minnesota C Mikko Koivu played in his 490th game, passing Andrew Brunette for fourth place on the team's all-time list. ... Stars captain Brenden Morrow returned to the bench in the second period after taking a puck to the face. ... Wild C Zenon Konopka received 30 stitches in his nose following Saturday's game, but logged over 6 1/2 minutes against Dallas.
