Recap

BRUINS 4, SABRES 3 (SO): Patrice Bergeron scored the lone goal of the shootout and host Boston closed out the regular season with a come-from-behind victory.

Tyler Seguin scored a pair of goals and Bergeron had three assists for the Bruins, who erased a two-goal deficit with 11:14 to play to improve to 7-1-1 in their last nine games.

Brad Marchand also scored for Boston, which had already secured the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference and will have home-ice advantage against the Washington Capitals in the opening round of the playoffs.

Tim Thomas stopped all three attempts in the shootout and had 25 saves as the Bruins won four of six this season against Buffalo, including all three at TD Garden.

Brad Boyes scored two goals and Jason Pominville also tallied for the Sabres, who lost four of their last five.

Buffalo appeared to take command in the third period when Boyes netted his second goal and Pominville buried his 30th just 1:44 later for a 3-1 lead with 11 minutes to play.

Seguin answered 70 seconds later with his second goal, a blistering one-timer on the power play, before Marchand tied it by outworking two defenders in front of the net and slipping a backhander by Jhonas Enroth with 7:39 left in regulation.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Seguin, 20, became the youngest player to ever lead the Bruins in scoring. He finished the season with 29 goals and 38 assists. ... Bergeron's three assists gave him 401 for his career. ... Enroth hasn't won since beating Washington on Nov. 26. He went 0-8-3 in his last 11 and was making only his second start since Feb. 16. ... Boyes scored two goals in a game for the first time since April 4, 2009. Vanek's assist on Boyes' first tally gave him 60 points for the fifth time in seven seasons.
