Recap
WILD 2, BLACKHAWKS 1 (SO): Devin Setoguchi scored the lone goal in the shootout and Josh Harding followed up a 22-save performance with three stops in the sudden-death format as Minnesota rallied to upset visiting Chicago.
Setoguchi snapped his shot over the glove of Corey Crawford on the Wild’s third attempt.
Harding, who at times was spectacular, looked to be down and out when Patrick Kane slowly came down and put a multi-deke effort on him. When Kane went to his backhand and slid the puck toward the empty net, Harding regrouped and got his glove on the puck on the goal line.
Cal Clutterbuck forced extra time with his 15th goal of the season at 16:48 of the third period. With Minnesota on the power play, Clutterbuck redirected Marco Scandella’s point shot to spoil Crawford’s bid for his first shutout of the season.
Jamal Mayers scored Chicago’s goal at 11:37 of the first period.
Harding's best save came early when he robbed Patrick Sharp. Kane made a beautiful cross-ice pass that Sharp one-timed, but Harding got his arm across to deny the shot.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Minnesota had just three shots in the first period, while Chicago was held to one shot in the final frame. … Chicago captain Jonathan Toews missed his 21st straight game with a concussion. … Heatley, who had scored in his previous two games was held to just an assist. … Scandella logged a franchise-record 35:32 of ice-time.
