BRUINS 8, MAPLE LEAFS 0: Benoit Pouliot collected two goals and an assist and veteran Brian Rolston scored a goal and set up three others as host Boston emphatically completed its first regular-season sweep of its Original Six rival in 20 years.
 
Reigning Vezina Trophy winner Tim Thomas was rarely tested, turning aside 13 shots for his fifth shutout of the season and 31st career.
 
Chris Kelly netted his career-high 18th goal, All-Star Tyler Seguin recorded his team-leading 26th and captain Zdeno Chara, Brad Marchand and Gregory Campbell also scored. The Northeast Division-leading Bruins, who outscored Toronto 36-10 this season, have won two straight following a four-game losing skid.
 
James Reimer earned an early exit after yielding four goals on nine shots for the reeling Maple Leafs, who have dropped 16 of their last 20 games and remain six points out of eighth place in the Eastern Conference.
 
Kelly opened the scoring 2:25 into the contest after forcing a turnover and then accepting a return feed from Pouliot before backhanding the puck past Reimer.
 
After Campbell doubled the advantage 3:15 later on a wraparound, Pouliot kept the Maple Leafs on their heels after deflecting defenseman Johnny Boychuck's shot from the point.
 
Marchand capped the first-period frenzy after accepting Seguin's goal-mouth feed and wiring a sharp-angle shot past Reimer.
