FLYERS 1, MAPLE LEAFS 0 (SO): All-Star Claude Giroux scored in the second round of the shootout and Ilya Bryzgalov denied all three attempts and secured his second consecutive shutout and third in four games as visiting Philadelphia won its fifth straight game at the expense of reeling Toronto.

Giroux skated in on Jonas Gustavsson and made several dekes before lifting the puck past the netminder for the lone tally in the bonus session.

Making his 11th consecutive start, Bryzgalov denied Tyler Bozak, Mikhail Grabovski and All-Star Phil Kessel to preserve the win. The Russian netminder, who made 29 saves in regulation and overtime, recorded his fifth shutout of the campaign and 28th career.

Bryzgalov also denied Kessel on a breakaway in overtime to keep the game scoreless.

The Flyers remained hot on the heels of Pittsburgh for the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference. The Penguins lead the Flyers by two points for home-ice advantage in the conference quarterfinals.

Gustavsson finished with 27 saves for the Maple Leafs, who dropped to 2-11-2 in their last 15 games. The loss was the seventh straight at home for Toronto, marking the first time it has done that in a single season since Nov. 11-Dec. 5, 1984.
