CAPITALS 4, MAPLE LEAFS 2: Marcus Johansson and Keith Aucoin had a goal and an assist apiece as Washington handed host Toronto a fourth straight loss.

Captain Alex Ovechkin added a pair of assists in his second contest back after missing a game with a lower body injury.

Johansson netted his 12th goal on a wraparound 32 seconds into the contest to open the scoring.

Alexander Semin doubled the advantage just over three minutes later after he stripped Maple Leafs defenseman Luke Schenn of the puck and fired a wrister past James Reimer.

Toronto coach Ron Wilson called a timeout after the goal, but it failed to rally the Maple Leafs.

Jeff Halpern and Aucoin added markers in the second period for the Capitals to put them up 4-0.

The Maple Leafs were booed off the ice by their home fans as time expired in the period.

Colby Armstrong and Tim Connolly responded in the third period with goals for Toronto, but it was too little too late.

Michal Neuvirth made 28 saves for his eighth win of the season.

The Capitals have won consecutive games after previously losing three straight, while the Maple Leafs have dropped eight of nine.
