All-Star Jamie Benn and Michael Ryder collected a goal and two assists apiece as the Dallas Stars breezed to a 6-2 road victory over the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday.
Eric Nystrom and Vernon Fiddler scored during the first period and defensemen Stephane Robidas and Sheldon Souray also tallied for Dallas, which had mustered just seven goals in its previous six contests.
Kari Lehtonen turned aside 33 shots as the Stars moved to within one point of the eighth-place Minnesota Wild in the Western Conference standings.
After Nystrom cleaned up a juicy rebound to level the contest with 6:04 left in the first period, Fiddler gave the Stars a 2-1 lead just 2:45 later after beating Jonas Hiller between the pads.
Benn doubled the advantage 69 seconds later after taking Steve Ott's setup and beating Hiller under the crossbar for his 14th goal of the season.
Robidas' one-timer 7:14 into the second period was answered by Ducks defenseman Luca Sbisa just 1:22 later, but Lehtonen closed the door as Anaheim's season-high six-game home winning streak came to an emphatic end.
