Recap
Clarke MacArthur's second goal of the game 2:06 into overtime lifted the Toronto Maple Leafs to a 4-3 victory over the host New York Islanders on Tuesday and a sweep of their home-and-home series.
Having gone his previous eight games without a goal, MacArthur broke out in a big way to emerge as the hero. The veteran forward fired a shot that Islanders netminder Al Montoya scrambled to snag, but could not keep his glove in front of the goal line.
Video review confirmed the puck was in, sending Toronto to its third win in the past four games.
Mikhail Grabovski finished with a goal and three assists while Jake Gardiner added his first NHL goal for the Maple Leafs, who defeated New York 3-0 at the Air Canada Centre on Monday.
P.A. Parenteau forced extra time for the Islanders with 12.2 seconds left in regulation, taking advantage of a strange bounce to fire a puck that beat Jonas Gustavsson on the glove side.
John Tavares added his 20th goal of the season and Josh Bailey also scored for New York.
