All-Star Corey Perry scored his eighth goal in nine games and Jonas Hiller turned aside 31 shots as the Anaheim Ducks skated to their fourth straight victory with a 2-1 triumph over the visiting Ottawa Senators on Saturday.
An own goal by Ottawa was credited to defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky as the Ducks posted their eighth win in 10 meetings against the Senators dating back to Game 1 of the 2007 Stanley Cup Finals.
Playing in his 700th career contest, Chris Neil ended Hiller's bid for his third shutout of the season and 14th of his career by cleaning up his own rebound midway into the third period. Ottawa was unable to solve the Swiss netminder again and suffered just its third setback in 13 games (10-2-1).
After a scoreless first period, Perry accepted a brilliant centering feed from Bobby Ryan and backhanded the puck past Craig Anderson at 6:15 of the second. The reigning Hart Trophy winner now has four goals in as many games and 22 on the season.
Anaheim doubled the advantage with three minutes remaining in the session - with an unintentional assist from All-Star defenseman Erik Karlsson. Visnovsky's shot from above the right faceoff circle was deflected in the air, but Karlsson failed in his attempt to bat it away with his stick and the puck caromed off Anderson's left arm and into the net.
Making his 12th straight start, Anderson stopped 27 shots and fell to 2-6-0 in his career versus the Ducks.
