Jiri Hudler scored twice and combined with linemates Valtteri Filppula and Henrik Zetterberg to secure eight points as the Detroit Red Wings outslugged the Dallas Stars with a 5-4 road triumph on Tuesday.

Filppula had a goal and set up two others, Zetterberg notched three assists and Jimmy Howard turned aside 25 shots for his NHL-leading 24th victory for Detroit.
Michael Ryder recorded his third two-goal game of the season and has eight tallies in as many contests. His latter goal brought Dallas to within one at 5-4 with 5:53 left in the third, but the Stars couldn't net the equalizer and fell for the third time in four games.
Jamie Benn, who teamed with older brother Jordie to set up Loui Eriksson, had a goal and two assists. With parents Randy and Heather in attendance, the Benns were the sixth set of brothers to skate for the Stars franchise.
After Filppula opened the scoring at 8:02 of the first period, Hudler doubled the advantage just nine minutes later after Zetterberg's shot caromed off his skate and past Kari Lehtonen.
Although Eriksson answered just 50 seconds later after beating a screened Howard, Hudler regained the two-goal advantage with exactly one minute remaining in the session after finishing a pretty tic-tac-toe play with Filppula and Zetterberg. The tally was Hudler's ninth in 14 games.
The clubs traded tallies on two occasions during the second period, capped by Johan Franzen's team-leading 16th goal and second in as many games.
