Recap
Zach Parise had a goal and three assists to power the New Jersey Devils to a 6-3 victory over the visiting Dallas Stars on Friday night.
Petr Sykora and Patrik Elias each added a goal and an assist to give the Devils their fifth win in six games on a night when defensemen Scott Niedermayer's jersey was retired.
Johan Hedberg turned aside 33 shots as New Jersey snapped Dallas' three-game winning streak and handed rookie goaltender Richard Bachman his first loss in four starts.
The Devils took command with a three-goal outburst in the second period, including Adam Henrique's shorthanded tally that erased a 2-1 deficit.
Ilya Kovalchuk then put New Jersey ahead to stay at 12:12 of the season. Parise assisted on the Devils' first three goals, giving him eight points in his last three games.
New Jersey’s David Clarkson had a first-period goal after Michael Ryder had given the Stars a 1-0 lead 8:40 into the contest.
Brenden Morrow and Toby Petersen also scored for Dallas, which wrapped up a five-game road trip.
