Recap
Tyler Bozak scored twice as the Toronto Maple Leafs defeated host Anaheim 5-2 on Sunday, handing the Ducks their seventh straight loss.
Bozak's big night gives him five goals in the past five games. Luke Schenn added an empty-net goal – his first of the season – and an assist as Toronto finished off an impressive 3-1-0 road trip.
The loss extended Anaheim's longest losing skid since the club dropped eight straight from Nov. 3-20, 2005.
Former Leafs defenseman Francois Beauchemin opened the scoring at 9:51 on an Anaheim power play, pinching in from the blue line and wristing a Teemu Selanne pass over Toronto netminder Jonas Gustavsson's right shoulder.
Toronto responded on its own man advantage opportunity at 14:10. Joffrey Lupul made a between-the-legs pass to John-Michael Liles, who found Bozak with a behind-the-back feed that he directed into a wide-open net.
Clarke MacArthur gave the Maple Leafs the lead 19 seconds later following an Anaheim turnover. Tim Connolly poked the puck into open ice and MacArthur pounced on it before rifling a slap shot over the right shoulder of Ducks netminder Jonas Hiller.
A Joey Crabb redirection made it 3-1 in the early moments of the second period, and Bozak added his second of the night in the opening minute of the third. Corey Perry trimmed the deficit at 5:38 with a wicked wrist shot from in close, but the Ducks would get no closer.
