Pavel Datsyuk scored the game-winner and added two assists as
the Detroit Red Wings topped the visiting Calgary Flames 5-3 on
Tomas Holmstrom scored twice on the power play and Ian White recorded
a goal and two assists for the Red Wings, who have won three straight
and seven of nine. Detroit has scored at least four goals six times in
its last seven wins.
The Flames have dropped the first two on their four-game road trip.
Calgary had tied the game 3-3 when Olli Jokinen scored on the power play at the 5:06 mark of the third.
The Red Wings, who scored three times with the man advantage, got a
5-on-3 chance later in the period when the Flames were called for
tripping and slashing penalties. Datsyuk cashed in the opportunity,
knocking in his sixth goal with 7:21 left.
After going 13 straight games without a goal, Datsyuk has scored three times in the last three contests.
Valtteri Filppula added a goal just over a minute later to put the game away.
Jarome Iginla scored his sixth goal for Calgary, snapping a three-game pointless streak.
