Recap
Ondrej Pavelec turned aside 34 shots for his first shutout of the season and the visiting Winnipeg Jets sent the New York Islanders to their sixth consecutive loss with a 3-0 victory on Thursday night.
Johnny Oduya had a goal and an assist and Evander Kane and Alex Burmistrov scored goals to help Winnipeg beat the Islanders for the fifth time in the last six meetings.
Pavelec recorded his seventh career shutout and first since April 7 to give the Jets their third straight victory at Nassau Coliseum.
Rick DiPietro made 23 saves in his second start of the season for the Islanders, who have scored seven goals during the six-game skid.
Kane opened the scoring at 4:21 of the first period, following up his own shot and pushing the rebound past DiPietro.
Pavelec made the lead stand up until Oduya tallied with 3:56 to play and Burmistrov added an empty-net goal at 17:44.
New York enjoyed a wide edge in play in the second period, peppering Pavelec with 19 shots, but was unable to capitalize on three power-play chances.
