Mike Fisher recorded two goals and an assist in his second game back from offseason shoulder surgery as the Nashville Predators defeated the visiting Tampa Bay Lightning 5-3 on Thursday.
Fisher scored the last of three goals in a 4:27 span in the second period as the Predators turned a tie game into a 5-2 lead and snapped the Lightning’s three-game win streak.
Sergei Kostitsyn, who left the game with an injury in the second and did not return, and Nick Spaling each chipped in a goal and an assist. Nashville registered its best offensive output this season and won for the first time in four tries at home.
Pekka Rinne made 29 saves, including 24 in the first two periods, for his 99th career win.
Steven Stamkos scored twice for the Lightning, extending his point streak to five games. Defenseman Marc-Andre Bergeron had a pair of assists and has at least a point in eight of 10 games.
Lightning goalie Mathieu Garon, who was playing his fourth straight game, was pulled after Fisher’s second goal with 7:50 left in the second.
Patric Hornqvist added his first goal in the second period for the Predators and Craig Smith had two assists.
