Sheldon Souray scored in the third period for his first NHL goal since Jan. 20, 2010, as the Dallas Stars prevailed, 4-2, over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday.

Brenden Morrow, Loui Eriksson and Michael Ryder added goals and Mike Ribeiro recorded three assists for the Stars, who have won three straight.

Souray, who was banished to the minor leagues when Edmonton could not find a trade partner last season, has been doing a strong job of resurrecting his career with Dallas.

After assists in each of the first three games, Souray finally found the net on Saturday, taking a feed from Ribeiro and sending a slap shot past Steve Mason at the 1:36 mark of the third period to snap a 2-2 deadlock.

The Blue Jackets scored first on Vinny Prospal’s power-play tally in the first and took a 2-1 edge on Alexandre Giroux’s wrist shot early in the second. But the Stars responded each time, with Eriksson's third goal tying it at 9:21 in the second.

Columbus failed to generate many chances, putting just 15 shots on goal. Kari Lehtonen made 13 saves.
