Joakim Lindstrom scored twice in his first NHL game since 2008-09 as the Colorado Avalanche remained perfect on their five-game road trip with a 7-1 triumph over the Ottawa Senators on Thursday.

Rookie Gabriel Landeskog, Matt Duchene and Milan Hejduk each recorded a goal and an assist while Daniel Winnik and David Jones also scored in the rout. Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 15 saves in his debut with Colorado, which improved to 3-0 on its trek and extended its winning streak over Ottawa to five games.

The Avalanche, who totaled three goals over their first three games of the season, entered 0-for-10 on the power play but broke through for four tallies on six opportunities against the Senators.

After Hejduk began a string of seven consecutive Avalanche goals at 7:04 of the first period, Landeskog put Colorado ahead for good 81 seconds later with his second of the season. Ryan O'Reilly, who collected three assists, stole the puck from Senators defenseman Erik Karlsson in the right corner and dished it to Landeskog, who beat Craig Anderson from the doorstep for a 2-1 edge.

Lindstrom, who spent the last two seasons in Europe following a stint with the Phoenix Coyotes, netted the lone goal of the middle period and capped the scoring late in the third during a power play.

Anderson stopped 32 shots for the Senators, who had won six of seven at home.
