Andrej Meszaros had a career night with two goals and two assists as the Philadelphia Flyers secured the Atlantic Division title with a 7-4 win over the visiting New York Islanders on Saturday.

The victory halted a five-game losing skid by the Flyers (47-23-12), who extended their dominance over the Islanders by beating them for the 21st time in their past 22 meetings. Philadelphia has won 13 straight home encounters with the Isles dating back to 2008.

Having clinched second place in the East, the Flyers will open the Stanley Cup playoffs against the seventh-seeded Buffalo Sabres.

After the teams combined for six goals in a wild first period, The Isles took the lead on P.A. Parenteau's 20th goal of the season 53 seconds into the second. Meszaros evened things at the eight-minute mark, and Scott Hartnell put the Flyers up for good in the late stages of the period.

Meszaros added his eighth goal of the season on a power play midway through the third period, capping his first two-goal performance since Nov. 28, 2007.

Hartnell also scored twice while Danny Briere, Kimmo Timonen and Darroll Powe added goals.

Michael Grabner scored his rookie-leading 34th goal while Travis Hamonic and John Tavares added singles in defeat for the Islanders (30-39-13).
