J.P. Dumont recorded his fourth career hat trick and Pekka Rinne made 32 saves to propel the visiting Nashville Predators to a 5-2 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes on Tuesday.
Patric Hornqvist added two goals and Chris Mueller and Matt Halischuk each recorded two assists for the Predators, who have won eight of their last 10 games.
After the teams played to a 2-2 draw in the first period, Dumont added his second of the night at 11:25 of the second session and completed his hat trick by cleaning up a rebound in front of Ilya Bryzgalov just over six minutes later.
Hornqvist struck again at 14:29 of the third period with his 15th of the season to put the game out of reach.
Dumont opened the scoring 8:16 into the first period with his seventh of the season and Hornqvist doubled the lead just 12 seconds later.
Radim Vrbata replied for Phoenix on the power play at the 10:31 mark with his 10th of the season before Lee Stempniak deflected a point shot past Rinne at 14:01 to tie the game.
Bryzgalov made 15 saves for the Coyotes, who have dropped two in a row following a four-game winning streak.
