Defenseman John-Michael Liles scored two goals and set up another as the Colorado Avalanche skated to a 6-3 home triumph over the slumping St. Louis Blues on Monday.
Paul Stastny had a goal and an assist while Milan Hejduk and Chris Stewart each notched a pair of assists for the Avalanche, who have won five straight meetings with the Blues.
Liles tallied at 5:05 of the first period to forge a 1-1 tie and gave Colorado the lead for good with 7:05 remaining in the session. It was the third straight Avalanche goal scored by Liles, who netted the team's only tally in a 3-1 loss to Detroit on Saturday.
Stastny made it 3-1 just 2:02 later with his seventh of the season and after defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo drew the Blues within one with 5:06 left in the second, Brandon Yip and David Jones scored 17 seconds apart later in the period to give Colorado a 5-2 bulge.
Kevin Porter capped the scoring for the Avalanche in the third with a power-play goal and Peter Budaj made 27 saves in his ninth straight start.
Alex Steen had a goal and an assist, Brad Boyes netted a man-advantage tally and Patrik Berglund set up two scores for St. Louis, which has lost four in a row following a seven-game winning streak. Berglund has collected five assists in his last three games.
