Nathan Horton scored his team-high eighth goal and Tim Thomas made 28 saves for his league-leading fourth shutout as the Boston Bruins posted a 3-0 victory over the visiting New Jersey Devils on Monday.
Michael Ryder and Blake Wheeler also tallied while Mark Recchi notched a pair of assists for the Bruins, who snapped a three-game home losing streak.
Ryder opened the scoring with 4:34 remaining in the first period, beating Martin Brodeur during a 5-on-3 advantage for his fifth goal of the season, and Horton doubled the lead 43 seconds into the middle session.
It was déjà vu all over again early in the third as Wheeler tallied on a snap shot at the 43-second mark, giving Boston a commanding 3-0 bulge.
Thomas, who entered with a league-best .957 save percentage, turned aside seven shots in each of the first two periods and 14 in the third en route to his 21st career shutout.
Brodeur made 21 saves for the Devils, who were shut out for the third time in six games.
