Justin Williams and defenseman Jack Johnson scored power-play goals in the third period as the Los Angeles Kings remained perfect at home with a 3-1 victory over the Dallas Stars on Thursday.
Captain Dustin Brown also tallied and Anze Kopitar notched a pair of assists for the Kings, who improved to 7-0-0 at Staples Center this season and 4-0-0 on their five-game homestand.
After a scoreless second period, the Kings cashed in on a power-play opportunity in the third to snap a 1-1 tie. With Ryan Smyth setting a perfect screen in front of Kari Lehtonen, Williams wristed a shot from the left faceoff circle into the net at 6:51 for his seventh goal of the campaign.
Johnson, who also had an assist, created some breathing room during a man advantage with 2:48 to go, netting his first goal on a wrister from the blue line.
Brown gave Los Angeles a 1-0 lead at 6:13 of the first period, burying a rebound from the doorstep for his seventh of the season. The Stars pulled even with 2:56 remaining in the session as Jamie Benn put a backhander past Jonathan Quick, who made 27 saves.
Lehtonen stopped 26 shots for Dallas, which has lost two in a row following a three-game winning streak.
