Cowboys 31, Redskins 16:
Tony Romo passed for 170 yards and a touchdown as host Dallas bounced back with a victory over NFC East rival Washington.

Romo, who set a franchise record with 506 passing yards in a 51-48 loss to Denver last week, was just 18-of-30 and threw an interception but got plenty of help from the return game. Dwayne Harris ran back a punt for a score and set up another with a long kickoff return while the Cowboys (3-3) got rushing touchdowns from DeMarco Murray and Joseph Randle.

Robert Griffin III completed 19-of-39 passes for 246 yards and turned the ball over twice in the final 9:36. Alfred Morris rushed for 81 yards and a score for the Redskins (1-4), who took both meetings from the Cowboys in 2012.

Dallas grabbed the lead on Murray’s 4-yard TD run 6:08 into the game and made it 14-3 when Harris took a punt back 86 yards for a score with 2:26 left in the second quarter. A pair of field goals sandwiched around the half pulled Washington within 14-9.

Harris’ 90-yard kickoff return set up Romo’s 15-yard TD pass to Terrance Williams, but the Redskins bounced right back when Morris broke loose for a 45-yard score with 3:43 left in the third. Kyle Wilber sacked Griffin to force a fumble he recovered himself on the Washington 3, and Randle ran for a 1-yard TD two plays later to put Dallas on top 31-16.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Cowboys DE DeMarcus Ware went back to the locker room in the second quarter with a right quad injury and did not return. … Randle’s score was the first of his career and came in relief of Murray, who went out with a sprained left knee early in the second quarter. … Washington’s Pierre Garcon led all receivers with six catches for 69 yards.
