Tony Romo threw for 279 yards and two touchdowns and the Dallas Cowboys rebounded from an embarrassing loss with a 23-13 victory over the visiting Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.

Rookie DeMarco Murray ran for 139 yards and fellow rookie Dan Bailey kicked three field goals for Dallas (4-4), which pulled away after a sluggish first half.

Facing the woeful Seahawks (2-6) was the perfect elixir for a team coming off a humbling 34-7 loss to NFC East rival Philadelphia. Seattle has lost three straight while managing just two touchdowns over the last 12 quarters.

The Cowboys have also struggled in the red zone, and that was never more evident than in the first half when drives of 96 and 86 yards, respectively, ended in 20-yard field goals.

Dez Bryant’s fumble at the Seahawks’ 2-yard line late in the first half also thwarted a promising drive. But Romo gave the Cowboys a 13-6 lead with a 33-yard touchdown pass to Jason Witten on the Cowboys’ first possession of the third quarter.

The defense, playing without linebacker Sean Lee and cornerback Mike Jenkins, then took over. Anthony Spencer jumped over the center to block a 41-yard field goal attempt on the Seahawks' ensuing possession. Moments later, Jason Hatcher's interception set up Romo’s 6-yard touchdown pass to Laurent Robinson for a 20-6 lead early in the fourth.

Robinson saw extensive playing time because Miles Austin left in the second quarter after aggravating a hamstring injury – the same ailment that cost him two games earlier this season.
