Arizona (4-10) cut the deficit to 19-9 early in the fourth quarter when Skelton passed to Tim Hightower. Hightower fumbled the ball but it was recovered by Steve Breaston in the end zone for a touchdown.
Skelton finished 17 for 33 passing for 196 yards.
Arizona got a field goal from Jay Feely, his second of the game, with 54 seconds to play to cut the deficit to 19-12 but the Cardinals failed to recover the ensuing onside kick.
