Missouri 35, South Dakota State 18: Maty Mauk threw for three touchdowns — including two to Darius White — to lead the host Tigers to a win over the pesky Jackrabbits.

Mauk finished 13-of-21 for 178 yards while Russell Hansbrough led Missouri (1-0) with 126 yards and a score on the ground. White finished with just the two catches for 83 yards while Bud Sasser had two grabs for 37 yards and a score.

The Tigers jumped on top quickly on Mauk's 44-yard scoring strike to White just 50 seconds into the game, but the Jackrabbits were right behind, needing just one play — Zenner's 75-yard touchdown run — to respond. Missouri had control by the end of the first quarter, with Mauk connecting again with White and Hansbrough scoring from 10 yards out to take a 21-7 advantage.

South Dakota State pulled to within three early in the third on Zenner's 3-yard scoring run, but Marcus Murphy returned the ensuing kickoff 100 yards for a score to up the lead back to 10. Mauk found Sasser for a 29-yard score early in the fourth to put the Tigers up 17 and they cruised from there.

GAME NOTEBOOK: South Dakota State QB Austin Sumner was helped off the field with an ankle injury in the first quarter and didn't return. … Missouri forced three turnovers, extending its nation-best streak of games with at least one turnover forced to 45. … Despite the 20-point winning margin, the Tigers only outgained the Jackrabbits 393-365 in total offense.
