Recap

Arizona 42, Boston College 19: Ka'Deem Carey ran for a pair of touchdowns and B.J. Denker threw for 275 yards and accounted for three scores as the Wildcats rolled in the AdvoCare V100 Bowl in Shreveport, La.

Carey ran 27 times for 169 yards, eclipsing the 100-yard mark for the 16th straight game to come out on top in a marquee matchup of star running backs. Denker was 17-of-24 with two touchdown passes to freshman Trey Griffey and added a score on the ground while Nate Phillips made nine catches for 193 yards - a record for the 38-year-old event - as Arizona (8-5) improved to 5-2 in its last seven bowl games.

Heisman Trophy finalist Andre Williams, who recorded the 16th 2,000-yard season in FBS history, was limited to 75 yards on 26 carries and scored a touchdown with 12 minutes left. Chase Rettig was 16-of-26 for 191 yards and a pair of interceptions and Alex Amidon had 10 catches for 129 yards, becoming the school's all-time leader in receptions.

Boston College (7-6) was within 7-6 midway through the second quarter and took over near midfield following a fumble recovery, but William Parks intercepted Rettig moments later and took it back 69 yards for a score. Arizona forced a quick punt and Denker lofted a 26-yard touchdown pass to Griffey to give his team a 21-6 halftime advantage, despite playing defense for nearly 23 minutes in the first half.

It was more of the same in the third as Carey ran in his second touchdown less than three minutes in and Denker capped a 93-yard drive with a 14-yard run up the middle to make it 35-6 with 4:56 left in the quarter. Denker struck one more time with a 3-yard scoring pass to Griffey early in the fourth before Boston College added a pair of late touchdowns.
