Kansas State 31, Kansas 10: Jake Waters passed for two touchdowns and ran for another as the visiting Wildcats claimed the Governor's Cup for the fifth straight year.

John Hubert rushed for a career-high 220 yards and a touchdown for Kansas State (7-5, 5-4 Big 12), which forced six turnovers. Dante Barnett led the way with two interceptions while Dorrian Roberts and Dylan Schellenberg each had one.

Jake Heaps passed for 138 yards and a touchdown but was intercepted three times for Kansas (3-9, 1-8). Senior running back James Sims, the first Jayhawk player to rush for 1,000 yards in back-to-back seasons, finished with 82 yards on 22 carries in his final college game.

Kansas State took control by scoring touchdowns on three of its first four possessions to take a 21-0 lead. Waters sandwiched touchdown passes for 35 yards to tight end Zach Trujillo and 29 yards to fullback Glenn Gronkowski around a 21-yard touchdown run by Hubert.

Kansas closed to within 21-10 at halftime on a 11-yard pass from Heaps to Jimmay Mundine and a 31-yard field goal by Ron Doherty. Waters added a 15-yard touchdown run in the third quarter and Ian Patterson concluded the scoring with a 31-yard field goal midway through the fourth quarter.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Kansas coach Charlie Weis, who wouldn't announce his starting QB during the week, started freshman Montrell Cozart. He finished 3-for-7 for 13 yards and an interception. ... Kansas State coach Bill Snyder improved to 18-4 all-time against Kansas. ... Kansas State WR Trent Lockett, who had 12 catches for a school-record 278 yards and three touchdowns in the Wildcats' previous game against Oklahoma, finished with three catches for 43 yards.
