Recap

Connecticut 28, Rutgers 17: Casey Cochran threw a pair of touchdown passes as the host Huskies won their second straight game after starting the season 0-9.

Cochran, a red-shirt freshman who made his first start three weeks ago, was 25-for-33 for 311 yards and Max DeLorenzo (15, carries, 52 yards) scored two short rushing touchdowns for Connecticut. Deshon Foxx had nine catches for 117 yards for the Huskies (2-9, 2-5 American Athletic Conference).

The Huskies, who rallied from 21 points down a week ago for their first win of the season, led for much of the game but they didn't put things away until the fourth quarter when Cochran hit Brian Lemelle in the corner of the end zone from 3 yards out with 3:04 to play. Taylor Mack then iced the game, picking off Dodd for the second time on Rutgers' next possession.

Rutgers struck first on a 10-yard pass from J.T. Tartacoff to Tyler Croft, but the Huskies scored on their first two possessions, getting a touchdown pass of 18 yards from Cochran to Dhameer Bradley and DeLorenzo's first score of the game from 2 yards out.
