Recap: Louisville 20, Houston 13

No. 13 Louisville 20, Houston 13: Dominique Brown ran for a career-high 137 yards and two touchdowns as the Cardinals kept their BCS hopes alive with a American Athletic Conference victory over the visiting Cougars.

Brown scored on runs of 13 and 3 yards in going over 100 yards for the second time this season for the Cardinals (9-1, 5-1 AAC). Teddy Bridgewater was 19-of-29 for 203 yards, but failed to throw a touchdown pass for the first time in 22 games for Louisville, which needs two losses by Central Florida for a chance to win the AAC.

Kenneth Farrow scored on a 4-yard run and Kyle Bullard made a pair of field goals for the Cougars (7-3, 4-2 AAC), who were held to 22 plays and 32 total yards in the second half. John O'Korn completed just 16-of-35 for 121 yards in the loss.

After Houston turned it over on downs with it first possession, Brown ran for 42 yards on six carries, the last of which resulted in a 13-yard touchdown to give the Cardinals a 7-0 lead. John Wallace followed with a 37-yard field goal in the opening minute of the second quarter to push the lead to 10, but the Cougars owned the final 14 minutes of the half.

Bullard sandwiched field goals of 46 and 22 yards - the first of his college career - around Farrow's touchdown to give the Cougars a 13-10 lead at the half. The Cardinals came out strong after halftime, with Brown's 3-yard run capping a 70-yard drive that took just 3:51 and Wallace kicking a 39-yard field goal to give Louisville a 20-13 advantage.

GAME NOTEBOOK: WR Deontay Greenberry, who entered the game with 70 catches for 1,042 yards and nine touchdowns, suffered a head injury on Houston's second possession and did not return. ... Trevon Stewart's recovery of a muffed punt led to Bullard's second field goal. ... Houston DB Adrian McDonald was ejected for throwing a punch during Brown's touchdown run early in the third quarter.
